Goliath Beetle

The goliath beetle (Goliathus orientalis) is one of five beetles in the genus Goliathus. Hailing from the Congo and Tanzania, these large beetles survive mainly on fruit and tree sap. Goliath beetles are some of the biggest insects in the world in terms of size and weight. In their larval stage, they can reach up to 3.5 grams but are only about half that weight as adults.
