Gaboon Viper

The gaboon viper (Bitis gabonica) is a venomous snake found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is the largest in its genus, has the longest fangs at 2 inches, and has the second-largest yield of venom next to the Malaysian King cobra. The gaboon viper is mainly an ambush hunter, and is primarily nocturnal, spending the first six hours of the night.
