Humpback Whale

Humpback Whale

Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) migrate further than any other mammal on earth, around 3,000 miles between summer feeding grounds near the poles to warm winter breeding waters closer to the Equator. As a subspecies of baleen whale, they are distinguished by the hump in front of their small dorsal fin, large pectoral fins, and their loud, complex songs.
